Cal Ron is a white wine from Cellers de Can Suriol, a family-owned winery in Penedes, Catalonia, Spain. It is made from organic Malvasia de Sitges grapes grown in a single vineyard called Cal Ron, which has loamy soil with calcareous rocks at 300 meters of altitude.
The wine is fermented and aged in amphorae made from clay from the winery’s own estate by a local potter. The amphorae give the wine a unique texture and complexity, as well as preserving the freshness and fruitiness of the grapes. Cal Ron is a dry and nutty wine, with aromas of white flowers, citrus, herbs and honey. It has a medium body, crisp acidity and a long finish. It is certified organic and has no added sulfites. Cal Ron is a perfect wine to pair with seafood, poultry, cheese and salads.
